TO THE LAND OF THE STARS
"To the land of the stars" horseback tour works as our first chain of the "Where the nomads are" tour and featuring five full horse riding days with local english speaking guide and starts from the shepherds farm at the foot of the Tien Shan mountains. Many livestock trails will take you along the rivers up the SonKul range where you finally get a spectacular view of the beautiful lake SonKul surrounded by thousands of Yurts.

Day 1
Location: Meeting in Manas Airport/Bishkek – Transfer to the Kyzart village.
Altitude: 900m to 2400m

You’ll be picked up at the airport and we’ll get you checked into the hotel to freshen up and rest after a long flight. You’ll have to time if you get in early to see a bit of a Bishkek before beginning our way to small Kyzart village. Make a turn to Burana tower where the starts historical excursion. According the timing do another break in Boom valley or in Kochkor village for a big lunch. Finally arriving to the village at the evening time when we get all together behind the family style dinner our guides will provide guests with a briefing about the upcoming trip, safety and everything what we should cover.
Day 2
Location: MeKilemche pasture.

Water sources: Carry sufficient water from Kyzart. Guest will find clean water from the springs or side valleys along the trail to refill water bottles.

The second day starts right from the front door of the house and ends in the Kilemche jailoo (Carpet pasture) where you will have a rest in a host Yurt till next day. The day starts with equipping the horses/horse riding brief and follows with exploring morning life of the village while you will crossing it. The rest of the day will roll on the summer shepherds pasture with gentle flowing uphill in the valley.

Location: North shore of the SonKul lake

Todays trekking provides with crossing one small pass of Jalgyz Karagay 3240m and features panoramic view of the lake in distant but as you ride down the slopes, it gets larger, the mountains on the opozit side gets higher until finally the lake fills most of your fieldview and the southern mountains tower above it. . Bigger part of the day will spended for uphill riding than slowly easy descent to the lake side for another starry night.

Riding down the pasture via crossing the Tuz Ashu pass 3400m and drop to another side valley from the lake. Continuing trip with a 4x4 vehicle by crossing Kokomeren river to the other famous pasture Suusamyr valley.

For joining our trek you should have fit and adventurous nature. This trek doesn’t require advanced horse riding skills but you have to be confident spending up to 4 to 5 hours a day on the saddle, not get too mad on a rough weather condition. On the trail we have no 5 star hotels but yurts with wood/coal burning stoves.
Group size
6 person min – 12 person max. For all groups our services are works privately. We don’t like mess in our bases and we never mix 2 different groups in one. If the number of the guests are less than 6 either more than 12, shoot us an email for discussing for how we roll in that case
Insurance
Every one who joining us for skiing/trekking/horse riding in KG should have a personal MED-EVAC insurance which can be easily paired with Kyrgyz mountain rescue service.
Gear
Whole structure of the trekking and personal gear. Kyrgyz people never use helmet, riding breeches, gaiters or any other special equipments so bring everything what can make you more safe and happy on top of the horse.
Camping
Bring everything what you would bring if you are going for a multi days trekking, except tents and kitchen needs.
Horses & Riding
All the horses used for the tour are owned by the Kyrgyz tribes or shepherds and carefully selected by our horseman. They are usually local breeds such as Donskaya or Kyrgyz or crosses of the two, they vary in height from 14.1-15.3hh and are very surefooted, super fit and adapted to the altitude and mountainous terrain. The saddles are very simple, traditional Kyrgyz or Russian saddles. covered with a large and deep sheep skin cloth and pretty comfortable for all day rides. Saddle bags are available on request. The horses are usually all male, either stallions or geldings. The mares are used for breeding.

This is the first day of the expedition. After breakfast drive to the Bozuchuk valley and our staging area where you’ll meet the herders with whom we work. After some preliminary instructions, gear changes and adjustments, we saddle up and begin our journey. We set out from the end of the Enchylesh village and travel up through forest, crossing the side rivers up to our first lake at the Bozuchuk heights.
Day 3
Location: Jergez twin lakes
Altitude: 3200m to 3432m via 3516m

TWe traverse Bozuchuk heights through open meadows, crossing the river and streams, travel up two small mountain passes for our second night’s camp in high pastures next to the twin lakes

All the trails which goes up must go down, go up again and finally should descent!? Another day of two passes but this time the vertical drop will build almost a thousand meters. The Ailanysh pass will be done quick and easy but can’t say the same about the Anyrty pass. The end of the day you will find yourselves chilling in the hot springs of Arashan valley.
Day 5
Location: Ala Kul pass
Altitude: 2600m to 2600m via 3860m

On this day we bootpack a high and steep pass after couple hours of crossing open, wide pasture below. Here you get five star panorama view to the Lake and the main five thousanders of the Terskey Ala too range in a good weather. After a lunch right at the top of the world it waits for you descending down on the same way back to Altyn Arashan where you will get another evening hot spring session.

Location: Tuz Kok Tuz meadow

On this day we bootpack a high and steep pass after couple hours of crossing open, wide pasture below. Here you get five star panorama view to the Lake and the main five thousanders of the Terskey Ala too range in a good weather. After a lunch right at the top of the world it waits for you descending down on the same way back to Altyn Arashan where you will get another evening hot spring session.

Very gentle descent down the valley for few hours than take a turn for another small panoramic pass with a view to Karakol town so we can ridden down right to the city.

Location: Transfer Karakol – Kochkor village.

Here our first part of the expedition is done now you will have a long but beautiful journey to the Kochkor village trough the south shore of the Issyk Kyl lake. Possibly visit the Jeti Oguz, Skazka canyons. See the Eagle hunters and their eagle training in Bokombaevo.

Another small travel to Kyzart village from Kochkor. Here we start another five days of adventure to the Sonkul lake from the front door of the partners house which ends in the Kilemche jailoo (Carpet pasture) where you will have a rest in a host Yurt till next day. The day starts with equipping the horses with exploring morning life of the village while you will crossing it. The rest of the day will roll on the summer shepherds pasture with gentle flowing uphill in the valley.

Todays trekking provides with crossing one small pass of Jalgyz Karagay 3240m and features panoramic view of the lake in distant but as you ride down the slopes, it gets larger, the mountains on the opozit side gets higher until finally the lake fills most of your fieldview and the southern mountains tower above it. . Bigger part of the day will spended for uphill riding than slowly easy descent to the lake side for another starry night.

This is a flat but long day just crossing lots of villages of the host and shepherds Yurts, riding along the lake with radial hikes for amazing views to the down bellow from the side passes.

Day 12
Location: Tuz Ashuu pass 3400m

Riding down the pasture via crossing the Tuz Ashu pass 3400m and drop to another side valley from the lake. Continuing trip with a 4x4 vehicle by crossing Kokomeren river to the other famous pasture Suusamyr valley.

Last day of the trip proposes early breakfast and roadtrip to the southern capital trough the famous waves of mountain passes on main road between Bishkek and Osh city. After long travel you will have a good rest night and whole morning of the next day.

The second day starts from the side of the Pamir highway and ends in the Yurt village next to the Tulpar Kul lake outback pasture where you and your horse will take a rest for the future expedition. Its going to be pretty big day with smoothly crossing Alay valley where everything looks close but the scale of the landscape is simply huge! Evening host in the Yurts.

Our this day provides with a culture exploring of the local life. Possibly visit our shepherds friends get horse milks, inviting people for the evening feast which is going to be a sheep cut in Kyrgyz way, making bred cocking national dishes and join a national games.

Experience
For joining our trek you should have fit and adventurous nature. This trek doesn’t require advanced horse riding skills but you have to be confident spending up to 7 to 8 hours a day on the saddle.
Group size
6 person min – 12 person max. For all groups our services are works privately. We don’t like mess in our bases and we never mix 2 different groups in one. If the number of the guests are less than 6 either more than 12, shoot us an email for discussing for how we roll in that case
Insurance
Every one who joining us for skiing/trekking/horse riding in KG should have a personal MED-EVAC insurance which can be easily paired with Kyrgyz mountain rescue service.
Gear
Whole structure of the trekking and personal gear. Kyrgyz people never use helmet, riding breeches, gaiters or any other special equipments so bring everything what can make you more safe and happy on top of the horse.
Camping
Bring everything what you would bring if you are going for a multi days trekking, except tents and kitchen needs.
Horses & Riding
All the horses used for the tour are owned by the Kyrgyz tribes or shepherds and carefully selected by our horseman. They are usually local breeds such as Donskaya or Kyrgyz or crosses of the two, they vary in height from 14.1-15.3hh and are very surefooted, super fit and adapted to the altitude and mountainous terrain. The saddles are very simple, traditional Kyrgyz or Russian saddles. covered with a large and deep sheep skin cloth and pretty comfortable for all day rides. Saddle bags are available on request. The horses are usually all male, either stallions or geldings. The mares are used for breeding.

Lagman (Meat and vegetables with spicy sauce on top of a hand-stretched noodles). Plov (Rice with mutton and vegetables). Kuurdak (Fried beef/lam or chicken with potatoes). Shorpo (Soup with chunks of vegetables and lam). Oromo (vegetables and mints rolled in the pasta cooked on steam) Besh barmak (Lam, noodles, onions with a soup of a mutton). Dymdama (Vegetables with beef covered by cabbage and steamed in Kazan). Almost all the meals are have ability to be cooked as a vegetarian one.
